Batman Interrogates The Joker (Inspiration)

I find this scene a great scene, not for the effect of even the camera work but for the way the two characters work together, it makes me wonder or even the audience question whether the Joker is seen as the villain or if Batman is, or even if there on the same level, which is put across within the scene. which is shown when the Joker says that basically him and batman are the same, they are both seen as freaks towards the public of Gotham city.
